Charles Ruffel is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Asset International Inc., parent company of PLANSPONSOR.Asset International is a financial information company based in Stamford, CT. Its media products also include PLANADVISER, NewsDash, and Global Custodian and their eponymous websites. The company’s related products include events and conferences, research, training and adviser services.Ruffel is a leading authority on global pension issues, institutional money management, and international securities services among other areas.

Prior to founding PLANSPONSOR, Mr. Ruffel was a financial journalist with Institutional Investor, New York and Financial Mail, Johannesburg. In addition, he was an Account executive with McCann Erickson Advertising, London. Mr. Ruffel obtained his MS – Journalism from Columbia University – 1984 and MA – History from Cambridge University – 1979. He is the recipient of the 2003 Retirement Savings Advocate of the Year Award, National Defined Contribution Council.

Mr. Ruffel is married with four children and resides in Wilton, CT. He is an avid fly fisherman.
