ING’s innovative recruiting concept featured in HR Executive magazine

Published Date: 11/16/2006

Earlier this year in Atlanta, the office of Workforce Diversity hosted its first Private Networking Reception (PNR), an event that brought together 20 qualified diverse professionals for power networking with ING leaders and hiring advisors. The non-traditional recruiting concept has attracted the attention of Human Resource Executive magazine, an industry-leading publication for HR management. Jacqui Robertson, head of Workforce Diversity, discusses the concept in the Oct. 16 issue, below.

“The purpose was to really allow managers to start networking with external talent, whether we had a job opening today or not,” Robertson is quoted in the article. “I think that’s the way you hire. It’s getting to know the talent. I call it getting beyond the dinner table.”
In addition to generating positive publicity for ING, the PNR concept has taken off internally with more events being scheduled. In fact, many of the ING Employee Networks are now adopting this concept and leveraging it as a means to network with and recruit talent locally.
