Mike Buchholz is senior vice president and national sales manager for ING Variable Annuities, responsible for distribution, sales and managing 60 regional vice presidents all working within the Independent Channel.

He began his career with ING in 1994, starting at the internal sales desk. In 1997, he was promoted to regional vice president and served until 2003, when he was promoted to divisional sales manager. He advanced to his current position as national sales manager, for the Independent Channel for ING Variable Annuities in 2005. During this time, he has been recognized as a Top Wholesaler in 2000 and was a Century Club member for four years.

He began is career in the financial services industry in 1991, working three years as a Morgan Stanley broker

Buchholz holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Iowa and NASD Series 7, 24, and 63 professional designations.
