Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Ed Steinike is the chief information officer (CIO) for ING Global Insurance, leading an executive-level effort across Europe, Asia and the Americas to drive strategic, cost and performance improvements in IT. He also serves as the CIO for Insurance US. In that role, he provides overall leadership, management and strategy as it relates to technology investments, IT operations and enterprise customer service. Steinike is a member of the US Executive Management team and the Leadership Council for ING Group.

Prior to joining ING, he was the CIO North America and chief development officer for The Coca-Cola Company, where he was responsible for global applications development for all business units, including the sales and distribution software company supporting all bottling operations. In addition to Coke, he spent 26 years with General Electric (GE) where he served in various senior leadership roles, including chief information officer for the corporate commercial, energy products, energy services and medical divisions.

Steinike earned a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University. He is a member of various CIO associations and serves on the board of advisors for the College of IT at Georgia Southern University.
